Everything runs in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored.

How the engagement rate is calculated

The calculator uses the most common formula: (reactions + comments + reposts) ÷ impressions × 100. All four numbers are in the analytics under your post.

Other tools sometimes divide by followers instead of impressions, or add clicks, so their rates are not directly comparable. Always compare rates worked out the same way.

How to raise your LinkedIn engagement rate

The rate is a ratio, so it moves when more of the people who see a post act on it. Four habits help most.

Open with a hook

Every impression starts with the first lines. A clear, specific opening turns more viewers into readers, and readers into reactions.

Ask one real question

End with a specific question your readers can answer from experience. "Thoughts?" rarely earns a comment.

Reply in the first hour

Answer every comment while the post is fresh. Each reply adds to the conversation and gives readers a reason to come back.

Track it over time

Work out the rate for each post and compare it with your own average. One post says little; ten posts show a trend.

LinkedIn engagement rate calculator FAQ

Is this engagement rate calculator free?

Yes. It is free, with no signup and no limit. It runs in your browser, and the numbers you enter are not sent to us or stored.

How do you calculate the engagement rate of a LinkedIn post?

Add the reactions, comments and reposts, divide the total by the impressions, then multiply by 100. For example, 102 interactions on 4,200 impressions give a rate of about 2.43%.

Where do I find impressions on LinkedIn?

Under your post, open the analytics. Impressions are the number of times the post was shown on screen, which is why the rate uses them rather than your follower count.

What is a good engagement rate on LinkedIn?

It depends on your niche, your audience size and the format of the post, so the most useful comparison is with your own previous posts. Our guide on what a good LinkedIn engagement rate is goes into the details.

Why is my engagement rate different in another tool?

Tools use different formulas. Some divide by followers, some add clicks or video views. This calculator counts reactions, comments and reposts against impressions.

How do I get more engagement on my next post?

Open with a clear hook, end with a real question and reply to comments in the first hour. Podawaa adds early reactions from real people in your field, and its free plan boosts up to 5 posts a month, with no card required.
